Barn Raising

James started building our chicken coop.  It kinda felt like a pint sized barn raising!

James just has to do 1 more wall, a door, the roof, and nesting boxes.

Ear Phones

Okay. . . for those of you who don't already know I am a hugemongous Pinterest addict! I found somone on Pinterest who makes wraps for earbuds and I just knew that I could hack it.

When tying a knot you tie it twice to knot the knot. With the earbuds you tie it once (as pictured above) and then flip it to tie the yarn again flipping each time after it has been tied. You do need to leave a long tail when you first begin so that you can continue tying.

It was very time consuming but definitely worth the effort. They don't get tangled up anymore and it keeps the cords safe from little hands!

Score!

I was at WalMart in the garden area and they have a ton of stuff on clearance. I got two Gerber Daisy plants each for $1! How awesome is that?! The plant on the right looks near death, but it does actually look a lot better than when I first brought it home. It has perked up quite a bit. I am confidant that it will make a full turn around.

Desk

Here are the much anticipated desk pictures.

It is still unfinished. I only have to sand and paint two more drawers and it will be done. As you can see, the inside of the cabinet is unfinished. I think that I want to wall paper the inside of it.

It is L shaped so, the above picture is one half with the door on top of it and what you see on
the concrete is a keyboard pull out for the second half.

The pic. below is of the back of the pic. above it.

Desk

Okay, I cleaned out my garage today and started painting the final portion of my desk. I should have taken a before picture, because wo it was ug-a-ly! It is going to be so cute and very functional! Woo hoo! I am so looking forward to using it. If I did not mention before (which I probably have) it is going to by my sewing desk. I can't wait. I will actually have a place for it all without out it having to be scattered about our office. I will take pic.'s when it is done which will most likely be on Wednesday. Yay for me!

February Project

So, I bought a great big L-Shaped desk at the auction for a whole $2. It is solid, but definately needs to be painted. I was putting this project of sanding it and repainting it for February. It has been sitting in the garage since before the holidays. James was lucky to have someone in his parents ward give him a large multi tool/saw workstation. He will be picking it up on Saturday. My February project has now become a rush and get it done this week project!

I got the first half basically done on Tuesday, took yesterday off, and started sanding the largest half today. The muscles in my arms are spasming from sanding so much. I will finish sanding tomorrow and start painting tomorrow too. I will post a picture of it when I am done.
