Princesses and Cleaning

This morning Eva decided it was dress day. She is such an equal part girly princess and tom boy. She loves being outside and getting in mud fights with her brothers, playing bad guys, and shooting the living tarnation out of anyone with toy guns. Today she wanted to be a princess. She only has a couple of summer dresses. Most are definately for church or special occasions. Of course she wanted to wear the fancier ones, but I found one that she hadn't worn for awhile so it was new to her. After getting the dress on she wanted to go outside. She had to stay on the porch to play. We will see how that goes as the day progresses.

To change the subject, I am horrible about having my kids do their chores on a regular basis. They are pretty good at doing a couple of their chores each day, but that is about it. They love to play games here and here so this week I am trying to do better. Playing games on these sites that they love is a great incentive for them and definately cuts down on the whining (can I say that I HATE whining). Woo hoo! Plus, they get the chores done in record time!

Chop, Chop!

First of all I have to apologise for not including a pic. My memory card for my camera is on the fritz.

Okay, on Thursday I was upstairs doing laundry and came downstairs to put the dish towels away. As I walked into the dining room I saw it. A small pile of brown hair on the floor! I went back upstairs to check out the damage. Jacob had cut a noticable chunk of hair off of the back of Eva's head. I had to chop it to even it out. It still needs some professional help. I will be taking her to get it fixed this week. James was very sad. He loved that her hair was getting long. I was having fun doing little princess hairstyles and of course Eva doesn't care. Which is good, it will grow back anyway right?

Clothesline!

Okay. . .
I have had the stuff to build a clothesline just about since we have had our house. I dug holes and I filled them up again, because my hubby wubby didn't want to build it for me. I honestly think that he doesn't like the idea of having a clothesline, but yesterday he suprised me! He dug the holes out again, cut the poles, and set them for me. How awesome is he?!

I can't wait for the concrete to set so that they can be finished. They will be done in time for summer so that we can save some dough from using the dryer. Woo hoo!

My Garden!

Here is a pretty little summer squash plant.

This box has tomatoes, lettuce, parsley, basil, green onions, and onion chives.

Box number two has beans, watermelon, and the summer squash.

Desk

Here are the much anticipated desk pictures.

It is still unfinished. I only have to sand and paint two more drawers and it will be done. As you can see, the inside of the cabinet is unfinished. I think that I want to wall paper the inside of it.

It is L shaped so, the above picture is one half with the door on top of it and what you see on
the concrete is a keyboard pull out for the second half.

The pic. below is of the back of the pic. above it.

Desk

Okay, I cleaned out my garage today and started painting the final portion of my desk. I should have taken a before picture, because wo it was ug-a-ly! It is going to be so cute and very functional! Woo hoo! I am so looking forward to using it. If I did not mention before (which I probably have) it is going to by my sewing desk. I can't wait. I will actually have a place for it all without out it having to be scattered about our office. I will take pic.'s when it is done which will most likely be on Wednesday. Yay for me!

Mickey D's!

This morning, after I dropped Ethan off at school, I headed to Wal-Mart to pick up some groceries. On the way there Jacob was complaining that he was hungry and said, "Let's go to McDonalds! Keaton and Taegon and Andrea will be there!". Last week we met with them for lunch at the McD's by their place. I had to explain to him that they are gone now. That they already moved to Texas. He was very sad and went on to say that he doesn't have any friends here anymore.

Good luck Ann! I hope that you are having a fun/safe drive. Love you!
